Back to Work
The start of September means many things - the start of a new school year, the end of our sun-baked holidays, no more Bank Holidays to enjoy and that winter is just round the corner. It’s no wonder that some people give serious consideration to giving up the 9 to 5 and opening a bar in the Spanish sun!
If you are sweating about catching up on emails and finding the motivation to get back into the work mode, we wanted to assure you that it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom! January may traditionally be the time to reassess your life and look toward self-improvement but a few small enhancements can brighten up your workplace and lift your spirits again.
1 PLAN AHEAD
You might have just got back from your holiday but why not plan another one? It could be a weekend away or your next jaunt to a tropical paradise but it will give you something to look forward to.
Mark your holiday in bright red writing in your diary so that it is really obvious. It might also help you get organised if you plot your important future events and meetings.

3 BUY SOME NEW STATIONERY
If you have treated the kids to some new stationery for the start of the school year, spoil yourself with something new too. Stationery takes us back to the happy days
of our childhood so is guaranteed to create
good vibes. Make yourself the envy of your colleagues and feel great at work.

2 WORK SMARTER
If it looks like it is going to take a week to clear your unread emails in your inbox, don’t panic. This simple process should help:
• Delete - get rid of all the junk
• Do It Now - emails that only take a couple of minutes to respond to
• Date It - jobs or replies that have deadlines
• Delegate - colleagues can help you with certain tasks
It is advisable to make notes of the key actions and dates, try using coloured notes to
differentiate the priorities.

4 ADD SOME
COLOUR
Colour has a proven positive affect on our mood and productivity, especially during dark winter days. If your work-place is dull and bland, then it follows that you are going to feel gloomy and miserable after 8 hours every day.
Take matters into your own hands and surround yourself with your favourite colours and
get back your sunny disposition.
